City of Brewster

Located along the banks of the Columbia River at the southern end of Okanogan County. the City of Brewster has a public pool, riverfront parks, a recreation center, RV Park, and of course, boat access to the Columbia River.

Wildlife Parks

The Wells Wildlife Area in Okanogan and Douglas counties includes 8,200 acres managed habitat. The primary goal for the Wells Wildlife Area is to enhance and manage upland game habitat, recreation, and biodiversity.

The WDFW is charged with “preserving, protecting and perpetuating” the state’s fish and wildlife species, while also providing sustainable recreational opportunities for all to enjoy.

The Sands course at Gamble Sands unfolds along a picturesque sandy ridge overlooking the Columbia River.  By design, it delivers a true links golf experience with fine fescue and firm conditions on a scale that perfectly complements the wide-open spaces of central Washington.  What golf course designer David McLay Kidd accomplished at Gamble Sands is nothing short of sensational. 

Overlooking the Columbia River, in the high desert of North Central Washington, Gamble Sands is blessed with one of the most dramatic settings for true links golf in the world. In fact, golf course designer, David McLay Kidd described the location as a “once in a lifetime site that every designer dreams of.”

Alta Lake Golf Resort

Tucked away atop a winding hill, Alta Lake Golf Resort is North Central Washington's best kept secret. With breathtaking views of the Methow and Columbia River Valley, Alta Lake has come to be known by many as a "little slice of heaven on earth." Lake Wood Golf Course

Lake Woods Golf Course is a beautiful 9 hole public course located on the Columbia River. The course offers amazing views of Rufus Woods Lake.Lake Woods was built, founded and is still run by its members. It prides itself in being a not for profit, fun and slightly challenging course.

Columbia Cove boat launch

Beautiful boat access with plenty of parking. This area also plays host to the Brewster Salmon Derby, the biggest event in Brewster. The Derby's mission is to provide a family oriented fishing event that highlights recreation and promotes tourism, for the city of Brewster and the surrounding community by utilizing the upper Columbia salmon fishery.

In addition to the Brewster Salmon Derby, you can fish for Steelhead and Salmon when in season and there are several great walleye fishing holes nearby. One of the best kept secrets is bass fishing at the mouth of the Okanogan River. It's been said that we have the best fishing for bass in the State.

WATER SPORTS

A wide variety of water sports is available along the Columbia: Paddle boarding, water skiing, tubing, swimming and more. Brewster is located on the between the Chief Joseph and Azwell Dams. There is approximately 20 miles of open water between the two for fishing, boating, wind surfing, wave running and just plain relaxing.

Close to Brewster you can find three amazing ski hills and hundreds of miles of cross-country trails. The locals favorite is definitely the Loup Loup Ski Bowl. Offering 1,240 vertical feet with 10 runs ranging from beginner to expert. The mountain is serviced by a Poma fixed grip quad chair lift, installed in 1998 by an amazing community effort. A platter surface lift and a beginner rope tow give sliders a chance to practice their skills without going to the top. The Loup Loup Ski Bowl also offers 23 km of groomed track set Nordic trails from beginner to expert as well as tube rentals on the weekends.

At Lake Chelan is the venerable Echo Valley Family Ski Area. Echo Valley Ski & Tubing Area is a privately owned nonprofit resort formed over 60 years ago (1955 to present). Facilities include three rope tows, a 1,400 foot Poma Lift and a 4-lane tubing hill. We offer ski/snowboard instruction and rentals for all ages & abilities. The base area has a day lodge & eatery with a roaring log-sized fireplace to warm the toes while enjoying the food concession, Terri's Treats!

Located to our south in Douglas County is Badger Mountain Ski Lodge. Badger Mountain Ski Hill generally operates from January - March each year and offers 3 lift options; Bunny Hill (tow rope), "B" Hill (Tow Rope), and our "A" Hill (T-Bar). Other runs are accessible off these three main runs.

SNOWMOBILING 

There are several Sno-parks near to Brewster. The closest are Black Canyon Sno-Park and South Fork Gold Creek Sno-Park operated by the US Forest Service. Black Canyon Sno-Park gives access to groomed snowmobile trails to Chelan Ridge and: Parrish Peak, Cooper Mountain, Oss Peak, and Ski Peak areas with many scenic views. 

The most popular sno-park in our area is Conconully State Park. Conconully is a small rural town surrounded by 8 lakes. Take advantage of over 250 miles of groomed snowmobile trails in the area. “Snowmobiling experience was great. The trails are always perfectly groomed and uncrowded,” 

There are also many trails near the Loup Loup Ski Bowl for those who want to take full advantage of a day in the snow.

Methow Valley

The Methow Valley is an amazing place for recreation in any season, but it really shines in the winter months. 

Best known for its winter recreation, sunshine, and dry snow! 

Winthrop is home to the nation’s largest cross-country ski area and some of the most acclaimed snowmobiling and backcountry skiing around. Ski, snowshoe, sled, shred, or skate, the Methow Valley has it all.

The Methow Valley’s skiing, scenery, and trails are world class and our extensive trail system provides for 120 miles (200+ kilometers) of skiing in peaceful, freshly groomed and uncrowded conditions. The Nordic ski trail system is divided into four areas, all connected by the Methow Community Trail, which includes a suspension bridge crossing the Methow River, trailheads, and lodges along the way.

Doctor Dillard attended Washington State University on a football scholarship. He then attended the University of Washington in Seattle where he graduated a Doctor of Dental Surgery. He enjoys all the riches north central Washington has to offer.

Dr. Armstrong earned his BA at the University of North Texas and went on to Baylor University College of Dentistry for his DDS.  He completed his orthodontic residency at the University of Texas, Health Science Center.  Within his field of work, his interests are occlusion and esthetics.  Outside the clinic, he enjoys fly fishing, golf, pickle ball and spending time with is family, especially the grandkids.  “I’m passionate about helping the kids in the community.”
